Reaching a height of 3,518 m (11,542 ft) over sea level, Lautaro Volcano is located in Southern Patagonian Ice Field, in Chile. From its peak, adventurers will appreciate the most spectacular landscapes and amazing views of Mount Torre and the Fitz Roy range. The vastness of Southern Patagonian Ice Field, with its mighty peaks that pose the most technically difficult challenges for climbers, remains one of the least explored areas of the world.
Enclosed by a natural barrier formed by the surrounding mountain ranges, it is the third largest ice extent in the world. Its summit rises over 1,000 meters (3,281 ft) above the ice cap plateau and is surrounded by glaciers. It is the highest mountain in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park.
